Anybody ever fished Spider Lake in the Traverse City area?  I'm heading there this summer for vacation and I have never heard of this lake but I hear fishing is good.

Spider Lake is good for largemouth and panfish but I've never fished it. When I was up there last year they were having a tournament on it the day we were going to fish it, so we went back to Arbutus instead. It is just down the road and around the corner good for big largemouth and a few good sized pike. My brother in law has fished Spider quite a few times and he says it's just as good as Arbutus. We were up there for the 4th of July last year. We casted chartruse and white spinnerbaits and hammered them.

I got all pumped to see a thread about Spider Lake, I should've known that you started it Rob!  I'm heading up there as well, so if anyone has any information it would be appreciated.

Wifes grandparents have a place on it!  Fished it close to 20yrs now.  Its good for lgmouth.  Biggest bass from Spider was around 5.5lbs.  Lots of 2.5-3lbers.  Gills were awesome back in the day.  Now I rarely fish for them.  Look for the weeds!  Its pretty basic fishing.

That's my favorite kind of fishing  ;D

Born and raised in TC, uncle owns a house on Spider for last 20-years, it's only 238-acres. Lot's small LM. Don't waste your time on Spider, hit Green, Platte, or East or West GT Bays premeir SM waters, you are all the way up north, fish the best waters is my opinion.
