Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

D&R Sports Center will be hosting it's 22nd Annual Spring Fishing & Boat Show on April 2nd & 3rd.  The show will run from 9am - 8pm on Friday, and from 9am - 5pm on Saturday.  This is our biggest event of the year, so be sure to mark it on your calendar.  Admission and parking for the event are FREE, including all of the seminars and workshops presented by the pro anglers.

The 2010 lineup is HUGE including the #1 Angler in the World and 2010 Class Champion - Kevin VanDam!! How about Aaron Martens and Skeet Reese! And Mark Romanack, host of Fishing 411 TV, for every angler! Also Jonathan VanDam, Luke Gritter and Chris Noffsinger.

Check this page at www.dandrsports.com for up-to-date show details, seminar schedules and angler bios, and for store location and contact information. Note: KVD and Skeet Reese will only be on site Friday, April 2nd.

If it don't rain and the creek don't rise, I hope to be there on Friday to take in KVD, Reese, and Martens. I'll probably plan on being there around noon. 31 days and counting until Guntersville and Pickwick.
