The new elite-5 gps/sonar from lowrance

http://www.lowrance.com/Products/Marine/Mark-Elite-Series/Elite-5/

I've been comparing it to the hds-5 and cant really tell a huge difference other than they use different transducers. Does anyone see anything different between the two?

Bender

Looks like the same thing just without the broadband sounder. It looks a lot to me like the 520 series in the new housing. Have you found a price for it anywhere?

wonder if they increased the " Water Holding " capacity.   Any idea what they cost...

LipRip

Its listed for $569.00 at cabelas. Its not availible till march tho.

Bender

I don't think a $130 price difference from the HDS5 is enough to really make that much of a difference. The last 520c that I bought was $649 at Cabelas, full price since I was in a bind(another had Lowrance died, so did this 520 later on). Seems like they are trying to split the difference a little.

i was kinda thinking the same thing. you would think if they were gonna make a less expensive model they would price it a little less than 569.
