I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Here is part of a msg from Capt Charlie:

The 4th Annual Tips-Up for the Troops will be June 12th next year at Kensington again. Please forward this on. We'll have a new Save the Date card done soon. Thanks.

Manager, Veteran Programs

I was only one of many members who were there last year and it is a very worthy event.  Not only do they need boat volunteers but they also can use volunteers on land.  My wife is planning on helping out at "the picnic" while I'm getting schooled on that confounded lake again.

same day as the TBF youth event on Pontiac lake.

We always have a tough time fitting everything into our summer. That must be one of things that contributes to our winter cabin fever.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Dartag - I understand that it is the same day since I saw the TBF thread about their event.  However, I am not in charge of this event but was merely passing along the information as it was presented to me.  I wish that the two events did not conflict but that is not for me to decide.

Dan - You are correct about the short summer and not having the time to do all that we wish and/or want!  Just as long as the different events thru the year don't interfere with me donating to the bank accounts of our various BFL check-cashers from the forum, I am there!

RR   I understand. can't be in 2 places at once.   I fished the Tips event 2 years ago and had a great time.  Fished with an older gentelmen from down river.  he caught a 3 pounder on a top water.  we had a lot of laughs all day.

I will miss being there.  I am looking forward the the TBF event to help out.

hope the weather behaves so we all can have a fun day.

I boated for a vet named Bill last year, great guy and we had a good time, the very huge event was run realy realy well.

unfortunatley it was on the same day as the youth event last year also and I had to decide on one or the other....Im bummed to see that happen again this year, I think putting the vet tournament on the same day as the allready scheduled TBF charity event might be a bad idea.

I think that event is mostly backed by the BASS federation and echelons above them..Sadly I highly doubt that they would take a TBF event into consideration and change their date....JMHO.....I had the same issue 2 years ago and since I had committed to the TBF jrs first that is where I went..(Even though I probably have closer ties to the vets)...I probably will do the Jr event this year unless something comes crashing into my calendar that I can't avoid....I have other ways that I work with vets in our area....

My hats off to you guys that help out in both causes.....

We should be able to get enough boats two help out two good events. Gives people a choice.
