I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Went out of Erie Metro yesterday.  All Star Anglers was there for their last tournament of the year.  I didn't fish the tourney but it was good to see my old buddy Angelo.  He had only 12 boats for the final tourney but could have had more if it weren't for the weather and the BFL Regional in Iowa.

Anyway I stayed up the Detroit River.  Caught a total of maybe 30 fish or so.  Best five would have been over 18lbs easy.  Not bad for river fishing.  Both largemouths and smallmouths were biting good.  I had so much fun yesterday that I am going again this morning.  Leaving in an hour.  Weather supposed to be more of the same.  So I will probably do more of the same except I am going to head up more toward Fighting Island.  Should be lots of schoolies up there.  Water temps in the high 50's everywhere I went yesterday.  Should be more good fun.

Have you been on the North Shore yet east of the river towards Colchester????

I have been out there this year but not in the last two days.  Yesterday and today with winds out of the SSW to WSW have made conditions tough.  Five to seven footers out there.  Stayed up in the river again today.  Had another great day.  Didn't catch as many but did hit some new spots for quality.  It paid off.  Where I caught 25 to 30 yesterday, I only caught 15 to 20 today.  Better quality.  Best five would have been close to 20lbs.  Not bad for the river.  Largemouth bite was on.  Smallies were a little tougher to get but did get them.  Biggest Largemouth was over 5 as well as the biggest smallie.  Great fun.

A 20lb mixed bag sounds fun. Looks like I won't be back up there this year so I will have to live vicariously through the reports. Keep them coming.  ;)

As tournaments start to become fewer, I tend to post more.  Fall fishing on Erie is the best around.  I have stellar days out there and up the river.  Probably my favorite time of year out there.  The fall tree colors on the trees that line the shoreline are exquisite.
