Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I am heading up to the Alpena area for the labor day weekend.  Just curious as to whether anybody has any suggestions on places to fish???  We are staying on Hubbard lake, but there are many lakes in the area and I have never fished any of them.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

McCarter

the only lakes i have been to up in that area are Fletchers, Avalon and Long ( in Hillman ) and Grand Lake in Presque Isle.  There is another Long Lake just South of Grand Lake in Presque Isle that i heard is a great smallmouth lake but in 2 years of going up there i have yet to make it on Long.

Oh, these would all be great choices.

Grand, Long and Fletchers all have great fishing in that area....The thunder river is fun also....

If you do FLetchers, watch for stumps.  They can appear out of nowwhere.

Last fall when I was there, the "hot" bait was a Nemesis 5" sticko in all white color.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

Hey guys thanks for the input.  I think I may try Long lake.  I have heard positive information not only from you guys, but also from some other sources about Long Lake (south of Grand).

I will give the stickos a go, I actually just got some from Brian at the Saturday Kent lake tournament to try.  Tough to beat a stick bait wacky rigged in just about any inland lake.

It may be a little early, but Hubbard does have some good smallmouth.
