Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

My brother and I will be hitting the water tomorrow there and haven't any idea how it is, haven't been there since Memorial Day.  Anyone know the temp, is it behaving like years past?  Kinda hoping it's hot so I can hit some of the deep ledges.  We'll be in my wht/grn Champion (kinda hard to miss) if you're around and wanna share war stories, always nice to meet other members.

Normally I'd make a point to meet you there, but due to a previ commitment, I can't.

Water temp is like most of the inland lakes around here.  I was there Sunday, and Monday.  Water temp was in the 79- 80 degree range no matter where I went.
Fish are schooled as you might expect.
Plenty of bait fish to eat.
Most of my fish came on 4" Nemesis worms.   This time of year the 4" produces more for me than the 5".  Not sure if it's a match the hatch sort of a thing or not.   I"m finding where ever I go, I have to have the patience to let the worm soak for a lonnnngggg time.  It's really hard for me to do that, but it works when I do.

Weed growth is different in the chain this year.  Some of my usual hot spots haven't been.

In a way, this is good I've been forced to find new places.  Which is hard, since I"ve fished the chain for about 25 years now.  But, I have found places that I didn't know were there.

Get there early.  For some reason, the water skiers are showing up earlier this year.  Last week Sunday, it was full at 11:00.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

Scott,

Fiker hit it pretty much on the head.  Especially the 4" Nemesis worms ( I witnessed it personal from him at a different location Thursday ).  Don't rule out making a run down to Highland or over to Woodburn after the crowds show up to get away.

Good luck.

Ralph,

Sorry I didn't recognize you Thursday.  I would of said howdy.

Gentlemen,

I appreciate your help on the Chain.  The day as a whole was great fishing with my brother for the first time in months, however... the fishing was tough.  I tried the flat and weedline just around the bend from the SP ramp and got nothing from 0830 til 1030.  I have never been skunked there, even on July 4, Saturday at noon when the economy was booming!  Went to the ledges one lake up and found fish suspending just off the edges.  Got the young ones to hit but the bigger fish just ignored us.  My brother likes to fly around fishing so his patience wore thin very fast so staying to wait-out a big fish wasn't going to happen.  The bait of choice (the fishes not mine) were 4" Tightlines UV-Green finesse worms or 4" Blk Sencos.  Sorry, didn't have anything from Nemesis!

All told, I had a very nice day even though the fish had other plans.  Again, "thank you" for your help.

Glad to hear you had a good time.

That chain is a tough one to hammer out a limit on.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.
