I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Sadness. When I think of the club last year to this year I get all misty. I was fun. But what happened ? I know - the economy stupid (old Clinton cliche') or do we fold because Mr Tom is away ?

Chime in if you are still interested in making the scheduled dates OR do we focus on lakes that are cheaper to fish ?
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

I don't know what has happened, I could only guess.

As you know, I/we, have posted as to "who's still interested" each time an event comes up.  I've even emailed individuals to see who's in or out.  In most cases, I can't even get a a response.

I am still interested in the "club of old".  Also interested in meeting the remaining times this year.  Including this Saturday.

I'm also interested in fishing lakes that are smaller.  If we go to smaller lakes, then my boat becomes an option.  But, frankly, 16' of aluminum on Lake St. Clair just isn't my idea of being smart.

I'm up for a meeting, to see what we can salvage out of the remainder of the season.

How about the B dubs in Novi again?

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I have missed a couple of the events.  Conflict with other tournaments, not sure what else but time seems to fly by without enough days.

I am good to go this Saturday.  This is prefish/club for the BFL for me.  Already have a rider.

I propose we change the launch to Algonac or Ballard.  We had talked about Marine City, but I guess there are some boat races that are closing the river between Fawn and Pine River.

Anyone hear if the fish are in the river at all yet?  Cool weather, i fear they might be behind schedule.

Seth

GeeDavid

I am in sans boat as usual.  I have made but one of these this year and am looking forward to the big water.  Haven't made that at all this year.

EKennedy

Gosh, I miss fishin with y'all as well.  I miss Tom, too!

I vote for B-Dubs in Novi...soon
I vote for Ballard Ramp on Saturday

I plan to be there weather permitting and all that...with boat...and I'll take anybody fishing.  I'll also take a passenger for the trip to the east side.  First come, first to get the seat.   Don't have the Can. License, so I'll stay on the American side.

Cheers

MIBassKid

Sorry guys,
I have been M.I.A. for awhile but this summer I have just been really busy and it seems the events fall on a weekend that I already have plans.  THis weekend I have a wedding then going camping so not going to be able to make it again.  I also think we should focus more on the smaller lakes.  But that's just me being selfish I guess, too much money in gas, ramp fees and everything for me to drive down. Hopefully I get to see and fish with some of you guys later this year. Good luck saturday! hope you guys whack em!

fiker

I'll ride with you Eric.

I heard a rumor that they might be up in the channels.  If so, Algonac might be a good idea.

Without the Combat Fishing Newsletter I'm not sure.

If anybody knows for sure, jump in.

As of right now, I plan to launch at Algonac at 6:15 AM.  If they are not in the channels, it is a short run down the south channel to the main lake grass - not much of a different run to the firecracker than from Ballard.

I really wanted to fish the Stag area, but that goofy race...how in the world can they 'close' the river for that?  Why can't they race in the lake and stay out of the way?

If we find them in the river, I may trailer up to Stag later in the day...who knows.

Seth

Mojo

Seth Id like to buddy up with you for the river. I have my Canadian L, was looking to start at the A20 (dynamite top water along the reeds at 6:30 am) and work through Russell, Fawn and Stag. Starting at Stag is just as awesome.

My vote obviously is for Algonac !

If anyone is going to the south shore PM me and I can help with waypoints where got on em good.
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

I'm game to ride up with Fiker...and I'll fish with GDavid...he called first dibs and I'm easy.   Rick...we can fish anytime locally.  Call me, we'll set up details.

I'm cool w/ Algonac...it's a longer drive in the car...but shorter in the boat.  BAllard is easier for us west-ish siders and I can find my way there in the dark.    I'll also need a refresher on location if we launch Algonac. (DNR ramp if I recall?)

At least we're looking at sunny skies, warm temps, no rain. 8)

I'll be there with my dad, he is in town for work (golfing) and I think he was spoiled from out trip to the south shore last year so he will be fishing with me. I think there are resident fish in the channels and river so we should be able to find some.

The Boat races are from Stag Island down to Pine River. So, Marine City would still be an option with plenty of fishable water if desired.

Course area is roughly from the Stag Island Shoal Light (lower light) south to an area just below the Pine River (Light 48).

Hi guys,
Sorry to be MIA.  Yep, been an unusually busy summer and unfortunately I cannot make Saturday.  HOWEVER, from here on out, I should be able to make most Saturdays.  As you know, Jack has also been sans boat which is another reason we've been short a boater at our scheduled events.  I'm up for a meeting whenever.  I'd like to see us fish at least a few more times this year.  Let's get it going for the next couple of months K?

Mojo

So do we have Wolk and Rev as boaters ? Do either of y'all have a canadian L ??  ::) Always a bonus.

To get to Algonac ramp, take I-94 East going to Port Huron, I found going past 21 mile up to the New Baltimore exit (route 19) and go east (right) will give you a nice short cut to Route 29. Take left onto 29 (Walgreens on LHS) and follow several miles. The DNR ramp is across from a Kroger and you'll see it on the LHS.
