Anyone familiar with Michigan Marine Gear in Saint Clair Shores?  Can these guy do good work on a 225 Merc Poptimax, quick?  I need to get my boat to someone who knows what the pooh they are doing!!! >:(  I was told these guys are good, but I do not know for sure.

djkimmel

Wish I knew about them, but regardless, I hope things work out for you. Having motor problems in our season is definitely a pain. Been there, done that too.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Locally I have used Wilson Marine for some small repairs on my 250 ProXS.  They have several Merc Platinum mechanics, they know their stuff.  Problem is that they are usually backed up in the summer, might take a week or so to get to it.

If you need it faster, you might try calling Dewey down at Moore Boats in Indiana.  Yeah, its a haul down there, but they take care of the bass guys and Dewey knows his stuff.

I just had some work done to my motor at Tricity marine in redford.
They do not do any warrenty type work, but they will have you fixed up the same day if not the next. He has resonable rates as well.

Also check out Boaters value in Wyandotte,Mi. It is right next to the Wyandotte ramp on Detroit river. Ask for Duane. He seems to be very knowledgable on Optimax engines and has always done a good job for me.

Just to follow up on Seth's reply about Moore Boats. Dewey is ranked by Ranger as the #1 mechanic, second to non. He works on Merc's and Yami's, won't touch Evinrude Etec. He is the only one that touches my engine!!
