I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Anybody know where I can get some upgrade reel parts for Shimanos? I'm looking for handles, etc.
(other than www.japantackle.com) $100+ for a handle is a little too much for me right now.

call Shimano direct.  i got the number off there web site.  i can't find it here at work.  i bought bails for my symetre's from them.  they were great.

By upgrades, I'm guessing you mean aftermarket drags, bearings, etc?  The place I used has closed, otherwise I would tell you to go there.

Bearings, drag, and handles. I found www.smoothdrag.com , but they don't have anything for the Mg50. Maybe  I will try Shimano and get parts from higher end reels that are interchangeable.

Go to BFHP.  They have a couple sponsors there that can probably get you what you want.

Holy 1989! I've never been there, looks like an old BBS.

Here are a couple of sites I had on file for reel upgrades and bearings.  If I remember right you can check the bearing size on Mike's using schematics and get them on Boca.

Bender if you do find larger handles for the 50's please let me know. I bought some from BPS and they work, but I had to bush the handle and would rather have some that fit better .
