NOTE UPDATE 3/3/2021: ALL 2021 Shows have been postponed until 2022. I'll post the new schedule in a new post at some point coming up. I have the dates.

Here are the dates for the 2021 Michigan Ultimate Sport Show Tour - the three largest and most highly attended fishing and outdoor sport shows in Michigan!

The 2021 outdoor show season will run a little different than usual due to the unusual circumstances we're all too aware of. Outdoorama, the All Outdoors Show, will actually kick of the 2021 Show Season. Outdoorama runs February 25 - February 28 in Novi again at the Suburban Collection Showplace! New safety guidelines have been adopted for all of the 2021 Ultimate Sport Show Tour shows. Further information will be provided shortly.

The  oldest outdoor show of the 2021 Ultimate Sport Show Tour comes up 2nd - the 76th Ultimate Sport Show - Grand Rapids - to be held March 18 - 21, 2021 at DeVos Place.

For the first time, the 2021 Tour finishes up with the Biggest Fishing Show of them all! The Ultimate Fishing Show - Detroit moves to March 25 - 28, still at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi! The Showplace is not available in early January due to our present, unusual circumstances.

More information will be coming out as soon as it becomes available from Showspan, and after I've had time to read through the new safety guidelines to determine how things will be done this season.

Plan on being there with GreatLakesBass.com and many great outdoor companies, lots of fishing tackle, free seminars, the Ultimate Bass Clinic, Lake Ultimate and more! Keep up with the latest news, announcements, contests and promotions here, and on Facebook at Ultimate Sport Show Tour.

They figured attendance would be better if they waited for me to come home from Florida.

At this point in time I don't plan on going either.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

First, waiting to see if we can still go forward with them. 2nd, waiting for my chance to get vaccine, hopefully before shows start. Will go from there.

Unless she changes occupancy rules I doubt it will happen.   She is opening restaurants for 25% capacity.   At least it is a couple months away.

djkimmel

On that note, just got the news from Showspan that they are pulling the plug on the 2021 Outdoorama. They don't believe they'll be able to operate at enough capacity to make the show worthwhile for everyone.

Next Outdoorama will be February 24-27, 2022.

Hopefully, vaccination programs will be advanced enough by the time the March 25-28, 2021 Ultimate Fishing Show - Detroit comes around. Stay tuned.

My wife was commenting ( Loudly ) about this chart this morning.  She has a few spring events planned.   Being Old I qualify for the earlier shot.  She being a kid is not eligible until summer.   She is not a happy camper.

Has the Gov relaxed the rules yet for indoor gatherings.   That will be a lot of people in a confined space.

ALL of the 2021 Shows have now been postponed until 2022 with the Ultimate Fishing Show being canceled just a few days ago.

I'm wondering when I'll be eligible for the vaccination? Maybe by the time they get to me they'll have a supply of the newly approved 1-dose shot?

Meanwhile, my ice fishing season ended yesterday as the ice on Round Lake has melted away by over 50% in just a few days!?! Not sure how that happened with the 8 or 10 inches of crappy snow/slush ice on top of it, but there ya go. On last Friday I was seeing 8-12 inches of clear, hard ice underneath. Yesterday I saw 8 inches in one little area.

Most the rest was 6 inches to only 3 inches!?! More towards the 3 inch end. All the whitish, bubbly stuff on top has very little strength, and I would never walk out onto a lake covered with just that. Never.

I actually found one place where 3 short taps with my spud went right through to water. NO hard ice underneath. It did not look like a previous hole, but?? I drilled holes all the way out to my fishing spot checking the ice before I continued.

I also made sure I had 2 areas in the launch bay I was pretty sure even by the end of the day I could still get to shore taking it slow and easy. Light stepping... By the time I got in last night, I could see probably after today I'd need long boards or a boat to get to the ice. I don't do that, and I don't enjoy fishing on ice I have little trust in. The hole in front of the ramp drain tube has gone from a few feet opening to a small, elongated swimming pool. The opening to the east behind the pads/cattails had gotten bigger, and you could see lots of brown ice along the majority of the shore not already open.

Time to wait for the rest of the ice to melt before going out again in the row boat. Maybe 2 weeks. Maybe less... Pretty good trade off for not having the big shows I guess.
