Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Ranger R71... anyone have any information?

I'm looking at a 1996 Ranger R71 with a 2001 Merc 115 on it. I need to stay in this size range due to my tow vehicle and garage size. How does this boat handle choppy water? What kind of speeds should I expect? How long a rod fits in the rod locker? I'm currently running a Tracker Pro 17 so the length is the same but the boat styles are vastly different. Is there more deckspace on the R71?  How about the beam?

Thanks fellas.

Call Ranger, they should be able to give you all the specs on the boat.  When I bought my Javelin, I called Stratos and they gave all the information I needed.

I don't know how accurate this info is, but I found this online:

Length - 17'1"
Width - 83"
130 hp max
1125 lbs hull wght
24 gallon fuel capacity

I don't know what rod lengths you could store, but I'm guessing under 7' unless it has a center rod locker, then you might be able to squeeze a 7' in there.

Cool.  You should check this boat out.  The price is right and you could offer them $1000 less than that.  I know it is bigger then you want, I think your Ford will handle it, you might not be able to get it in the garage.  I will tell you from personal experience in a couple years you will be wanting a bigger boat anyway.

I bought my boat from here and got a good buy on it.

Mike, the R-71 is a great boat and would be the best boat you can get in that size and price range.  Rod box is 7' and if you have any more questions give me a call.
