Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Jay-MadWags and tdrouillard back on top 2019 MadWags Memorial

JayMadWags and tdrouillard teamed up again to win the MadWags Memorial Members Tournament for the 2nd year in a row on May 11, 2019 with 5 Lake St. Clair smallmouth bass weighing 20 pounds 8 ounces!! They also had the Big Bass of the event at 5-0! Fitting as this fun paper bass tournament is held in honor of Jason's uncle and one of our best members - David 'MadWags' Wagensomer - who passed away unexpectedly several years ago. JayMadWags and tdrouillard won $55.00 for 1st Place and $33.00 for Big Bass.

capt charlies charters had to leave before we broke out the pizza and totaled up all the scores so he didn't find out until later he had actually finished 2nd with 5 bass totaling 16-10! Charlie was fishing with his nephews Timothy and Matthew! They all contributed to their 5-bass team limit. They won $33.00 for 2nd Place.

Third Place went to VinceR and Mojo for 5 bass at 16 pounds even! They received $22.00 for that, and added $11.00 for 2nd Big Bass at 4-9!

The coveted Big Ugly Award went to 21XDC and detroit1 for a chunky 7-9 Freshwater Drum!! Not sure which one of the lucky anglers hooked into that sheepy? I think 21XDC himself pulled it out! They won a fabulous prize though now I forget what it was!?! Though, it really wasn't a fabulous prize only because I didn't do my job in seeking out donations this year, so that's all on me.

Ten total teams made it to Harley Ensign to fish the 2019 MadWags Memorial on a day of pretty nice weather overall for a change, but the fishing was tougher and slower than usual. Only 5 limits and just the 1st place team over 20 pounds. That hasn't happened in a while. Three teams goose-egged (including myself fishing with triton22). Revtro had to pull out early and one team didn't make it due to boat trouble. I'm blaming the cold, wet, windy, muddy spring mostly for the slower fishing as water temps were down and visibility was poor in many places.

For food at the weigh-in we repeated having Carlo's Pizza deliver a some tasty pizza, and various members brought drinks, snacks and tableware for everyone. Everyone had plenty to eat topping off what seemed like a nice day at the lake with lots of fishing stories! I'd like to add a special thanks of my own to VinceR for once again 'chauffeuring' me to the event so I have extra time to wake up! Thanks Vince!!

Dan thank you for putting the MadWags Tournament on every year and thank you for all you do for the sport of fishing.  The pictures in the link turned out great too. This is one of my favorite tournaments to fish every year because I get to meet up with great angler?s from greatlakesbass.com.

Tim and I caught our fish in Anchor Bay on tubes, cranks and jerkbaits in 3 to 8 fow.
