I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I just went out to the local tackle shop and bought a package of dropshot weights 3/8th oz. and they cost over .70 a piece. There has got to be some better buys than that around for jigs and weights. I need darter heads and drop shot weights and probably some more tube jigs. Where are the best deals.

Buy a mold and pour your own jig heads.  Some expense up front, but worth it in the long run.  Also, you could buy the cheap bell sinkers and use those for drop shotting.  Or, (and this works if you lose all of your good ds sinkers while on the water), use a bullet weight turned upside down and use a swivel or split ring to hold it in place (or peg it with some pegs).  I've done it and, actually, they are pretty snag proof...

Or buy them from somebody who is pouring themselves, I think BassCat (Mark) on here is making them.

Look on ebay.  I just bought 200 ( 100 1/4 oz, and 100 3/8 oz ) drop shot weights, with swivels for $20.00 plus $10.00 shipping.  $30 for 200 weights, thats $0.15 a piece.  They are nice, too.  I was half expecting to get crap for that price but there is literally no difference in the ones i just ordered with the ones i have paid $0.70 a piece for in the past.

Also, Wal Mart carries the Bullet Weight DS weights.  If i remember correctly, i have bought them for $1.69 for a 6 pack, i think.

I know at least one member on this forum who pours DS weights.  I thought i heard was looking to sell them.  I dont want to say his name, but if you Mark your spot and look over the Hill, you may be able to see him.

I think we have been spending too much time together, Chris.  We are starting to think alike now.

All 3 of us (me, you and chee-man) posted replies at the same time.  so i must assume you two are doing the same thing i am doing, which is sitting in front of the computer counting the seconds for each new post to be up.  Good times.  And to think, i could be fishing right now instead of sitting on my butt staring into cyberspace.

This is where I order my dropshot weights, great quality too. 16 cents for any size plus a small shipping fee depending on weight, I just ordered 250 weights for $40

FISH HARD!!!

I pour my own.

4.5 cents each.

Just like the ones you buy in the store - do both round and cylinder.

Same goes with tube jig heads.

Thanks guys. I'm all over this. About the only thing that I can offer up, being that I'm old as dirt and falling apart, is that if you know anyone that takes Nexium for chronic heartburn have them go to purplepill.com and they can register for a savings card that can save them almost $200 in the next six months. That's even if they already have prescription drug coverage. Just an FYI
