I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

   Ok , here it is
I just woke up somewhat recovered from what had to be the most physically demanding day of fishing i have ever experienced!!
After dragging MBell out of bed at 430am so we could be there by sunrise , which was a feat in itself!!  we were on our way to my most guarded secret hole on earth..   the temperature was below 10 degrees when we arrived.  Im sure you all know how quickly our rods and reels were icing up.  there was no way to maintain our equiptment and retie, land fish etc... with our gloves on . especially not with all the fish that were being caught. just a few seconds with the gloves off and wet hands from landing fish ,well ill say i couldnt feel much but pain and adrenaline rushes most of the day!!
the action was hot all day from sun up till we left at 4:00 pm . my first cast was a nice 3 pound smallie i took on a 3inch plastic minnow bait with a 1/8 jig head . that bait caught fish all day including a handfull over 4lbs but the real pig slaying baits for the day were a spinnerbait which i caught 2  over 4 1/2 on ,the Storm wild eye shiner swim bait which i took my two biggest on 5.1 and 4.9 , and finally the tube jig which turned on later in the afternoon after a modest but apreciated warm up for my third biggest of the day 4.8.
we werent counting how many we caught but we were weighing and taking pictures and  i think five fish an hour would be an understatement..   We were fishing 3 to 6 feet deep.
oh yea ,  i got two walleyes one about 23in the other 16in.
pretty funny that michigan can produce a 24pound bag in february under these conditions and florida during the spawn even on the best day only had a few bags better!!   I love this state

MBell

Wow James!
You kept it a secret for a whole 8 hours before telling the world :D.  I should point out that it was a private fishery that is difficult to gain access too, probobobly why it's so loaded.  James killed me, he had 40 while I had only about 10.  One of my fish was a 4.8 so that made the day worth it.  By far the toughest fishing day of my like, still recovering.  It was amazing to see the numbers of quality fish that came out of such a small area.  Heres a 4.8 James caught, not his biggest but the best picture.  The background is distorted just in case ;D.

Sorry - I made him tell - not enough for any real secrets to get out... although... the background does look at little bit like Mt. Everest?!? (or something to do with Willy Wonka...)

I know where they were fishing.  I hope to head there this week with them.  For the right price I may tell you where it was.  But right after I did I would have to kill you.  I think you can understand.  Some of you that may not know James may think he is bsing these reports.  I know him well and when he tells you he catches that many fish or that big of fish it is the truth.  He is a die hard and I mean die hard fisherman wh is very intense.  Lets head there fishign this week James and Matt.

An even bigger question I almost forgot to ask is Matt how and the hell did you get up at 4:30 am.  You must of had the alarm for 4am and hit the snooze about 5 times.  ha ha

jamesjackson

hey dale, matt didnt get up willingly i felt like a drill sergent!!!
the entire day was fishing elite forces boot camp!!
Matt,  YOUR IN THE ARMY NOW
     WHOOOOOAAHHHH!!!!

Bulletproof

Alright which one of you work at Consumers? ;)
I am haunted by waters.

djkimmel

Uh oh - don't get me or james in trouble now...
