I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

So after meeting Jeff last night and having a great night on the water,  being excited about fishing with fasttrack tomorrow I got up this morning and got ready for work.  I'm driving along and I see a deer on one side of the road and watch to make sure it's going to go the other way,  and bam!  Driving along 55 and hit one right square,  my poor pink jimmy isn't drivable anymore!!!  Yep my jimmy is pink but it's mine and I just loved it,  now it might be totally destroyed.  I was really kind of surprised the airbag didn't deploy.  So I called 911 and they sent a state boy out and I was glad it was someone I know,  cuz I didn't have my current proof of insurance with me.  What a way to start my morning! :(

Wow...I hope you didn't get hurt Wendy!  It's amazing how common it is for deer/car accidents.  I personally know at least 5 people who have hit a deer, and I have come awfully close on one occasion (to the point where I saw fur fly off the rump of a big doe as I grazed it driving down I-94...fortunately I was able to slow down and react quick enough to prevent nailing her head on).  There was no damage to my car, luckily, but I did have to pull some hair out of the gap between my quarter panel and headlight...scary stuff.

I didn't get hurt,  scared the poop out of me though.  Never saw the deer coming.  I hit her right square and I just found out 3200 dollars is the estimate so far.  I don't want it totalled out,  I want to fix it.  But it's not looking promising.  It's a 95 with low miles on it and it's PINK,  how can I replace that.  Oh well it's just metal and I'm thankful that I didn't get hurt.  I know there was a fatal accident here a few years back involving a deer so I know to be thankful that it was just my truck.

:o  OMG Wendy.  So sorry to hear about you and your Jimmy.  I was thankful you weren't hurt!!!!!   Ummmmm  I'm not sure if I told you or not but I had a deer "Incident" last October that totalled a 02 Trailblazer and a 02 Stratos boat.  We'll have to compare stories and pictures  in July!!!  lolol   I take it that the Hardy trip was off then??   Jeff

One of our board members - jcox7 - almost hit a bear this morning on the way to the TBF of Michigan state championship. He reported another TBF member had 2 elk run out in front of him, barely missing them both :o !!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Let's start by saying I was very thankful that it didn't happen on thursday because I had the truck and the boat that morning because we had a tournament that night.  So I'm very thankful for that.

And Jeff your wife told me about your accident after you left,  we told each other to be very careful on the way home and to WATCH OUT FOR DEER!  Well I made it home safe,  but not to work the next morning.  Who would have thought it was daylight and you just don't expect it.

The trip to hardy was still on I don't tow the boat with the Jimmy,  but let me tell you traveling at 3:30 in the morning the day after smucking a deer was a little nerve wracking to say the least.  And I saw alot of those critters on the way!

It doesn't look promising either,  the insurance co.  is probably going to total it :( I don't want them to,  where am I going to find another pink Jimmy?) We don't see them very often.  And I was just getting ready to dress it up with camo and my bass and deer and bow stickers.  Now Terry wants me to get a car,  I knew that was going to happen,  I like my Jimmy I don't want a car,  I hate driving cars,  if I would have had a car and hit that deer it would have come up through the windshield.  So I'm still waiting to hear the final verdict.

I'm glad it was a deer  though and not an elk!!!  Wow I can't imagine what that would have done.

Thanks everyone for all your concerns,  I'm fine other than just being bummed about the Jimmy.

Wendy,  I can't even imagine getting up before daylight and having to make the drive you did after hitting that deer  !!!!  Last fall, a week after our accident we had to go back up to Ludington to close up the trailer.  Kelsey didn't want to go at all !!!!  lolol  We told her we had to go, just to get through the trip.  Actually whenever we saw a dead deer along the highway we all clapped and cheered.  lolololol
I don't hunt, but Shelley said I could take it up after the accident.  I told everyone that I was gonna buy a gun and get a permit to hunt in every county along 31 from home to Ludington and take my limit in each  !!!!!    Jeff

spinninbug

It was a little nerve wracking that is for sure,  but I made it,  sunday nite Terry and I were going somewhere and a deer jumped out and I screamed,  he looked at me kind of funny and I said sorry just a little gun shy now.  He said he could imagine.

We are still waiting to see what the insurance is going to do so we are kind of in limbo right now.

I can see the headlines now Man Arrested for Shooting All Deer from Indiana to Ludington!!!  LOL.  :D

Sorry to hear about your pink little truck.  I know how much it meant to you.  Look on the bright side, working for a car dealer you have access to lots choices and you don't have to go far from them.  ;D

Yeah your right I don't have to go far to find a different one,  however I won't be able to find another one like that.  Terry will get his way and it will be a car.... :(  I hate driving cars.  Oh well the adjuster is coming tomorrow and I will know then what I'm going to do or not do.
