I just recently purchased a new Ardent baitcaster...I received some info about Gliss Fishing line. I know it has been out for a while ...

Does anyone have any experience with this ultra thin line. So many mixed reviews online.

Weird... I don't think I've ever heard of it??

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

It is a very ulta thin monotex fishing line, being marketed by Ardent. It is supposed to be the longest casting line in the world....??

I have been using Gliss for over a year now and I am very impressed with it. I only use it on spinning tackle.  It will work with casting gear but not recommended.  It is super thin and super sensitive. I have been using the 24 and 40lb as it is so thin that you get away with using heavier test. I did not like the 12lb as it was to thin and will cut thru a fluoro leader if used. I have yet to break 24-40lb.  It to me is better than braid as the diameter is so thin it comes off the spool like a rocket.  When using it on casting rigs I didn't like how thin it was, tends to get caught between the rest of the line on the spool every time you set the hook. Then you have to spend time to pull it out.  again it was not designed for casting.  Give it a try, I think you will like it.

Thanks for the information, what knot do you use to tie it to the Flouro leader?  FG?

I primarily fish with Spinning gear so I will definitely give it a try.  I read that they are supposed to come out with a 65# and/or 80# for Baitcasters

I tie the Alberto knot, never had any breakage. http://www.netknots.com/fishing_knots/alberto-knot

Haven't heard anything about the 65 or 80.
