I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

We are looking into going in to Canada on our way to the BASS Waddington, New York event. We have no real desires to travel abroad, so we thought about just getting enhanced driver's licenses. Anybody have thoughts about them?
"Not in the clamor of the crowded streets nor in the shouts and plaudits of the throng, but within oneself lies victory or defeat."

stackenem

you can use it to get into Canada from Mi, Not sure if you can use it from NY back to Canada.
Remember you don't quit fishing when you get old, you get old when you quit fishing

The SOS website says you'd be good

Will I be able to use an enhanced driver's license or state ID card outside of Michigan?
Yes. An enhanced license or state ID card issued in Michigan is accepted at any U.S. land or sea port when returning from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean. An enhanced license is accepted as a valid license for driving in any U.S. state.

The enhanced allows one to come and go as long as its by water or land. Air travel doesnt work. It's a little cheaper to do the enhanced.  For me fishing in ontario I use the enhanced license.  It's always in my pocket so I never forget it.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I keep a copy of my passport in my boat with a copy of my birth certificate.    Only place I have been asked Is when I call in.  Got stopped by the OP CO's and the Homeland Guys ( Green stripe on the boat and BIG guns on there side ).   They both asked If I had called in but didn't ask for the number.  Must be I am an Old Innocent looking guy.

Lucky you!

I have both in case I get lucky enough again to do some fishing travel somewhere some day.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I got stopped by the OPP once. They asked only for my Ontario license.  I dug it out and when I started to hand it to him he said, "oh you got yours online.  That's ok, have a nice day". Away he went, never looked at it.
Never asked for ID, numbers, nothing.
