Lake Erie/Detroit River October 23
« on: October 31, 2016, 10:40:50 AM »

I was out on the 23rd and the water got muddy. I managed only 2 fish. One big walleye and a small largemouth. I tried several spots but the mud had changed the fishing from the previous Wednesday. Has anyone been out in the last week and has the water cleared up any?? I appreciate any info on changing conditions.

I was out there on the 23rd and the 30th.
Unfortunately, no improvement in water quality.

Thanks. I was out yesterday and it wasnt better. It looked worse. Like coffee with heavy cream. Giving serious thought to calling it a season and winterizing the boat.

The only place in the river that is clear is lost/hidden lake.

Fished down in Monroe again yesterday.  The water was really dirty and high.  Fishing was not nearly as good as the 23rd.   But it was a warm beautiful day to be out there.

On the 23rd I had a great day.  Best run was 5 in 5 casts.  Not sure how many I caught that day.  Yesterday I went with Mr K. It was muddy and the water seemed high with lots of current.   Didn't catch a fish at the mouth where I caught them before.  We did find one bank that had some fish on it.   Not sure if it was the warmer weather or high dirty water.

High, dirty water is to blame I think.
