General Dynamics Hiring

At my Local Union Meeting on Tuesday Evening November 13, 2007, the Chairman from Unit 27 of my Local reported that General Dynamics in Warren, Michigan.  PM me and I will give all interested parties the information you will need to get a hold of the Chairman.

Where else can you get tips on bass fishing and finding jobs?  Good stuff BD...I'll pass this along to anyone who may be interested...

These are good jobs that pay in excess of $60,000 a year plus overtime.  Some would be afraid that the driver mechanic jobs are dealership mechanic style jobs.....but they aren't.  They are working on experimental prototype vehicles that are not yet greasy and grimy from running all over the place.  As for the Electronics jobs, they are computer, technology, type electronic jobs.  Building instrumentation and setting up that instrumentation to acquire data on the prototype vehicles.  Best part is that they are UAW represented jobs.  They are also salary and not hourly.  There is a difference.  It is nice to know that these jobs still exist and there are some openings. 

My local is an amalgamated local and that means that it is broken down into units.  My unit is Unit 10 which is a Chrysler unit.  Unit 27 is the same as Unit 10 but it is a General Dynamics unit and represents the Driver Mechanics and Electronic Technicians in Engineering there.  Unit 10 for example represents the Driver Mechanics and Electronic Technicians at Chrysler Engineering. 

Unfortunately Chrysler is not hiring yet.......but hopefully in the near future.  When they do, I will be posting how to get a hold of me as I am a steward in Unit 10 and I will hope to have that information when it happens.

 good job posting those jobs. hopefully some GLB members can take advantage, will you be fishing the one on one oakland county events this year ? only fished one but plan on fishing all of them next year I was in the ranger multi species boat on lake oakland had a great time ! jay

Jay, I will be fishing the Oakland County One on One Division in the NBAA.  I fished all three last year and qualified for the Championship on Gun Lake unfortunately the day it fell on was my wedding anniversary.  My lovely bride would understand about going to the tournament and I suppose she would not have minded too much, however she is my soulmate and we have always spent our anniversary together.  I have never spent it anywhere else and without her.  I am not ever going to break that tradition between us.  I hope next year the Championship doesn't fall on any of the special days that I have in August and I have three special days during that month that are important to my family.
