Inland Waterway Bass Fishing Closure Defeated

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

So GreatLakesBass.com member Matt Vermilyea begins his Elite Series Adventure tomorrow on the St. Johns River, his first day fishing as an Elite Series angler.

Meanwhile, GreatLakesBass.com member Chad Pipkens begins his quest for his 3rd consecutive Classic. I'll be watching a little of the action before I have to leave for the Ultimate Sport Show in Grand Rapids. Hope some of you can watch too.

Good luck to those VanDam boys too while I'm at it (Jonathon is also a member though I never got him to post). Good luck and be safe out there.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

JVD and Chad Pipkens are gracing the cover of Bassmaster.com today so far in the 1st day of the St. Johns River Elite Series tournament. Nice to see that!
