Fished Belleville Lake Saturday morning with hollada.  Launched at 7am (forgot the drain plug AGAIN and had to re-trailer again briefly) then headed east from the east launch. Water temps were around 73 degrees. Water clarity was relatively clear for the usual stained color that the lake is. Air temp was in the mid 60s. Went down to the dam area and hung out on the drop casting to the bank. Caught a quick couple on topwater, but then hollada pulled ahead with three quick bass on a weightless white fluke. I switched soon after and fished that pretty much all day as that seemed to work.  We both tried other lures throughout the day. Hollada caught a few on drop shot and wacky rigged senkos. Texas rigged bullet craw and creature bait didn't seem to work. Crankbaits were a no go.  Eventually left the east side and hopped around to a couple other spots on the lake.  Went past the bridge around noon and couldn't catch anything sizable. A lot of short fish and short bites.  Headed back to the east side around 1 back to where we started in the morning and caught a few more keepers.  Still a lot of short bites.  At the end of the day, we ended up with a dozen or so keepers between the two of us. Biggest were a pair of 16" smallmouth.  Couldn't tell you how many fish we caught in total. Lost track sometime in the early morning.  Probably one of the best days I've had on that lake, but I don't feel like it was the true Belleville Lake experience. Hopefully hollada doesn't expect these kind of results every time he's out there.

BIGSHOW

Thats a tough lake to fish. Makes you wonder where the big fish are. I know there has to be some...somewhere in there. I haven't been back since the tournament on opening day. I've been doing to good on the big lake. Not to hard of a choice when you have the option of 5 fish for 25lbs or 5 for 10lbs.

Might want to make a checklist to go through.  Mine had stuff I needed before i left home and when I Got to the launch.   Now I know it all and leave stuff at home or in the truck.   :)

Leaving the drain plug out is a great way to make sure your auto bilge pump is working.

Hollada

Had a great time and caught a fair number of fish.  Bar is set for Belleville for me (was my first time on the lake).   Need to get my skipping distance down a bit better.  I think I went through a box of Trokar wacky hooks!

Also caught my first first drop shot catfish.....
