I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Was at Torch Lake last weekend and Smallmouths were hot! Water temp was 62 and smallmouths were just starting to come up. We had our limits within the first hour. Finished out the day with 15lb and 19lbs limits. Tubes and senkos.

Duke

That's a good fishing trip. Were those the same weights you caught both days? Were those females on the beds or roaming?
Duke

TritonTR20

19lbs on Saturday and 18.5 on Sunday. Some people fished Skegmog with most in the 10-13lb range. The three boats I knew on Torch all had between 12-19lbs for each person. Fish were starting to bed but not "locked on" yet. Biggerfish were roaming the flats in 8-10 ft.

TritonTR20

Should have been there dude! Whats you brother been up to since he got married?

Duke

His wife just got pregnant! He's been fishing once since the wedding  :-\'.

He's a changed man to say the least.

Anyone have an update on the water temp at Torch and if the spawn is still happening??  I will be up there over the 4th.  Thanks.

fishndooder

GT bay should be HOT that week surface temp is only 56-58, so probably 52 down 3 feet.  I was out last night and while fishing is good most are just roamers with a few on beds.

Jonesman

Fish,
Thnanks for the reply.  Is the water temp you gave for Torch or GT??  Does the spawn appear to be done at Torch??  Thanks again.  If you ever head to Lake Erie and need help, let me know.

fishndooder

I was out on East bay yesterday surface temp ranged from 58 to 60 it appears that the spawn is just about in full swing as I saw many males and females getting it on.  Look for beds on big shallow flats down south.  not sure about torch haven't been out that way yet.  my guess is it would be 2 weeks ahead of the bay

TheFishinPollock

If ya think Torch was hot. Ya'll shoulda motored up to Bellaire. Temps were hovering around 69 70 degrees  last week mid week.  We boated at the least 30 smallies. Everything from  , Wow hes small to  how did he swaller the entire spinnerbait blades and all.    Temps have been climbing stadily  due to decent sunny weather.   I have noticed most lakes that are not cold year round are moving into the post spawn periods. Kept 2 off of Bellaire for a fry and they were empty of eggs and rather hungry.
