Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Going to start making jigs as a project to do with my son. Looking to get a melting pot and some molds to start at Janns online. Anybody have any suggestions or willing to share their experience.

I suggest you buy pre poured and painted heads from lure parts on line dot com.... Add skirts etc that they also sell... I have been making baits for near 30 years and can tell you the pouring and painting is not where the fun is... Order free the catalog too...

I started pouring my own jigs about 5 years ago.  I had one jig head style I liked and got tired of paying the high price for them.  Barlows sells molds and all the supplies you need.  I have a ladle and use a propane torch to heat the lead.  You can paint or powder coat the heads.  There are plenty of videos online to show you the process.  It is fun when you catch your first fish on you own jig.  PM me if you have any questions.

Lure parts has so many style jig head and spinner bait head choices, I suggest you try this first. If you find a desire to get deeper into this, Then I can see the interest in buying all the equipment, parts and paint etc... There is not a lot of savings going this route. You will still be making your own... Saving a lot of money, and catching fish!  ;D

Appreciate the comments. I am going to buy the $50 something melting pot and a few Do It molds. Want to get a darter head mold. Just can't find the heavy hook I like around here so I am going to give it a shot with the do-it-yourself approach.
