I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Michigan B.A.S.S. Nation Bass Season Change Resolution now MUCC Policy

Michigan United Conservation Club delegates vote Michigan B.A.S.S. Nation bass season resolution as organization policy

Sunday, June 22, 2014 the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC) state convention delegates voted greater than the needed two-thirds majority to adopt the Michigan B.A.S.S. Nation (MBN) bass season proposal resolution as official policy. The only change from the original resolution submitted through District 20 in March was a minor friendly amendment suggested by Past-President Paul Rose to the adaptive management section.

This is major and a key victory next step in securing a year-round bass fishing season for Michigan in 2015! We will now have full support of MUCC and their staff in our efforts to provide more bass fishing opportunity and hopefully sell more fishing licenses and get more people into fishing by making it easier to go when you can go!

Next up are public meetings in July around Michigan to comment on 4 options the MDNR will put out to the public. Online surveys will be included. Stay tuned for the options in a separate article tomorrow, and meeting schedules and locations as soon as they are available.

We also have to make sure we support the Legislature to sponsor and vote on the Scientific Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act so we return Fisheries Order authority where it belongs to the Natural Resources Commission. The NRC needs that authority so they can create a new bass season Fisheries Order to replace the existing order with the present shorter bass seasons. The radical animal rights people are trying to take away all scientific management of fish and game in Michigan and we can't let them do it!
