I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I teamed up with Chris Crumley for a weeknight event on Magician Lake in Sister Lakes.  I used some preconceived ideas on where I could find fish and a little info on the stage of the fish from JGipson since I had not been there yet this year.  I wanted to fish shallow, but being postspawn and raining very well, I decided that was not going to work, so we went to a point off the island where I've caught them good at before.  We didn't get any bites for the first hour, throwing cranks, jerkbaits, craws, and shakey heads.  I switched to a drop shot and threw a Reaction Innovations worm on 1/4 oz in 10-15 fow.  I caught a few of them very quickly, but they were too small to keep so we kept working around the point.  We got to a few keepers finally near the back edge where it wraps around to a flat ridge.  I was catching quite a few but they were all skinny or too small.  We worked back to the point and I broke off a 2 to 2-1/2 pounder at the boat.  My next cast I hooked into a really good fish on the fall but he came off shortly after.  We moved to another weedline that crosses the lake and right away I caught 2 more keepers, giving us 4 so far.  I figured we were around 6 pounds so far and thought we could compete if we got 1 good fish.  It never happened though, so we went to the weigh in feeling dejected.  We weighed in 5.93 pounds and the winners had almost 11.  In hindsight, I would have spent less time on the point since we weren't getting many and nothing of size, and would have went to the main lake flat and worked the drop there.  Still it was a fun time, but I am a sore loser, and getting beat on a lake I have been on several times in the past is worse.  Better luck next time!
