Inland Lakes/ Deep or Shallow for Big Bass

Just wondering what everybody's take on this subject is.  Obviously it varies from lake to lake depending on forage, cover, and water clarity.  However, I would say that generally I catch more larger bass deep along the deepest weedlines than I do shallow under docks or shallow weeds.  I will say that I find both shallow and deep more productive for big bass(3lbs or larger) than medium depth(5-8 feet) which I generally have found to be dink city.  What is everyone's thoughts?

My experience is this - big bass are all over the lake. I've always caught plenty of big fish shallow. This year I'm working on deep jigs - 15-20ft of water and catching solid fish but not the numbers. I think my TX strategy is going to evolve to fishing shallow in the mornings to get a limit and then work deep in the midday to catch some upgrades.

I like to fish shallow in the mornings as well.  Catch the easy fish while you can.  Typically never amounts to much more than 14-16" fish for me though(and a ton of absolute dinks).  Once the sun comes up, flipping the deep weeds is what seems to work for me best.  Can take hours to get a bite, but when you do its usually a good one and most of the time there are a few more there as well.
