I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Ok guys really trying to learn the jig and I am really newer to bass fishing what to use and when? Colors type of water? Any and all tips will be greatly appreciated! Thank you

dartag

Ckerow..green pumpkin or black blue. 20 lb line on a casting.rod..   Toss.it.to.stumps.or wood. Let it sink, shake it a.couple times.  Reel it in and.do it again.  If you feel a.tap set the.hook.  fish it for 10 hours.and you will get it.  Leave.the other rods in the locker.  No mystery to it.  It just takes time

Wolfie729

Sweet thanks what type of trailers?

dartag

I use Chigger Craws or strike king rage craw.  Mostly green pumpkin.   I make my own jig heads but there are many good ones to buy out there

Quality jigs I like are made by Chippewa lures. Made in michigan, look them up on Facebook they are good guys to work with. Team them up with reaction inovations smallie beaver or kinky beaver and your good to go. Keep them on the bottom bouncing around bumping into cover. When I started to learn how to jig fish I started with heavier jigs just to get a feel for things. 3/4 oz and 1/2oz 8)

Wolfie729

Thanks everybody anyone try swimming them?

dartag

That works to.  The hardest thing to do is keep fishing it.  That is why you keep the other rods packed away.   Once.you start catching fish you will be hooked on fishing them

Wolfie729

What kind of trailers for swim jigging and is white any good?

gmetime24

If swimming jigs try to match the forage and I like rage craws if throwing swim jigs

djkimmel

I like white for swim jigs. I also like white in the fall when I'm fishing the shad (or in Michigan, alewife) runs.

Matching the hatch is a good standard recommendation. Sometimes I go against the grain if that isn't working or there's so much food I'm wondering if I'm getting the bass' attention. I also like bright colors sometimes in muddy water or maybe during the spawn, or fall 'aggression' periods.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Since I make and sell Oldjiggers copperhead jigs I am a bit predjudice but I fish a jig with a jiggerbug trailer 90% of the time.
