Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

anyone want to bring thier boat out and join us (the wife and kid are showing up late)

You're a brave man to head out to Whitmore Lake on the weekend.

fiker

Whitmore Lake can be bad all week long.  I only fish on week days, and then early in the day.

Whitmore is famous for early morning skiers all week long.

And boats.

And planes.  Or at least one plane.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

I remember seeing a plane land on Independence Lake a few times.  Wonder if it's the same plane.

How was Whitmore today bob?

bob o

i had a great time. i haven't been there since 2011 and the weedbeds did move around a little but once i found them it was game on drop shot and weighted wacky rigs worked really well. The big suprise was the crankbait that once worked really well didn't work at all, so i switched up to a long time fav rapala shad rap wacked'em good, so i guess i'll keep'em for another year. Oh and a float plane did land right next to us it was yellow. the pilots and passengers in a float plane need pfd's on board like us boaters?

djkimmel

I believe they have to be on board but I would have to refresh my memory by doing some reading and I will leave that up to someone else to look it up. Glad you had fun on that lake. One of those I've never been too I don't think.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I haven't been there this year, but historically there's a guy that owns a plan on the Northwest corner of Whitmore.  He keeps it moored in front of his  house.  I don't remember if it's yellow or not.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.
