Just got back from the Bass Pro Shops Grand opening in Portage, Indiana.

Nice little store they have over there, and boy was it packed.  i was there for minn kota/hummingbird and boy did we move some stuff.  In two days, we sold them out of 5 or 6 different models of Hummingbird units, including the new 797c2 sonar/gps combo with side imaging.  Those things were flying off the shelves.

Apparently, the whole state came over to check it out.  I have never seen so many people in one place.  It was like cedar point, except there were no rides and it didnt stink of urine.

The highlight of the trip was having lunch at the Islamorada Fish Company restraunt located inside the store.  They have a gigantic saltwater tank filled with tasty little fish.  But they arent for eating, they are just for looking at.  I had the mahi sandwich with fries and a 'ginger ale' 8).  Excellent food.

Alot of familiar faces over there as well.  Got to hang out with a bunch of people from the Auburn Hills BPS.  They were there helping the new store get set up.  They didnt really have any great sales going on, but i suspect that will change for the upcoming classic sale.

If you are in the area, check them out.  Its a little different than our store, and a little smaller.  They do have an upper level but i didnt get a chance to check it out.  From what i hear tho, thats where all the hunting stuff is.  And if your there, do yourself a favor and have a bite at the restraunt.  Well worth it.

I was headed home on friday after spending a week at our facility in IL, so I decided to stop in and see if they had any specials going on.  Nice place.  I was in a hurry to get home so I didnt stay long.
