Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Any suggestions on a good reel with around a 5.3:1 to 5.5:1 ratio? I was set to get a curado CU200G5. But they don't sell a left hand model, which would be a 201 model #. Thats the problem i'm having is finding left hand models. No problem in 6,2:1 and up but not in the lower ratios.

New

the Chronarch has a 5:1 in the left hand or the Abu winch is the same price

You might check BBC they have allot of used reel and the lefty's aren't in demaned (they hard to sell)
or check on E-bay for a older 201 curado with a 5:1

gmetime24

Daiwa makes a crankbait reel that comes left handed. The Daiwa Exceler has a lower ratio at 4.9:1 and brings in about 22 inches of line per handle turn. I think most low gear reels are between 22 and 24 inches per turn.  This also is pretty affordable at 89.99 in most stores

i have found my self buying Lews reels for the past three years now, very smooth reeling and drag, and fit my hand just rightStarting at juds under $100 a great reel for the money

fishstick

Check out the Lew's BB1 or the Tournament MG for cranking both come in lefty

I have been checking the bbc boards from time to time. I am thinking about the chronarch now that I see it has a left retrieve. Cabelas didn't have one on their website, only right. But amazon has it. I just have alot of gift cards for cabelas.

I have been hearing great things about Lews reels lately...not a bad review

As a Shimano guy
FYI, The New "E" series Chronarch is really the Old "F" series Curado
They shifted prodution to Japan and painted them white instaed of the Green
But there are cheaper then the old "D" series that they replaced

THe old Citica became the new Curado

All in all it's good solid reel
Good brake and drag and it's a Shimano
comes in the 50, 100 & 200 size

I've been hearing alot of good thing's about lew's also. As for the citica,I have one of them. Its not to bad

zman5

Lews- haven't fished it yet ,just bought it but man it feels like a nice reel

Lew's are the best reels out right now I have both of these models and love them.  I would trade my shimano cores for the cheapest lew's

Im leaning towards the tournament mg, just giving it a few, waiting for a deal

You need to look at the new and improved Revo Winch. 5:4

I was considering the revo winch. But i've had so many people having good things to say about lew's products with price and reviews taken into consideration i'm gonna try lew's out. I was really leaning towards the shimano chronarch. But i'll try this out and if I don't like it I may take it back and get either the revo or chronarch.

You won't regret it.

I'm a Shimano guy but I bought a Winch this winter and made a few casts the other day - I have to make some adjustments but I did really like the feel of the reel. I think I'm really going to like it for cranking!

Got the lew's BB1,5.1:1. We'll see how it works. Also picked up a shimano stratic ci42500 spinning reel. I like my other one

MSURoss

I'm also looking at a cranking reel... I'm stuck at either the winch or BB1. I see the winch has a much bigger gear and handle.

zman5

I picked up a Lews speed-spool havn't fished it but it seems nice for a reel under a hundred bucks and I havn't read a bad review on it yet
