Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Lions just fired Mariuchi or whatever his name is.  I didnt hear if they have a replacement yet.  Anyone?  Mr Miyagui would be a sweet head coach if he were still alive.

McCarter dont know football.

I just visited the Detroit Lions Website.  Marinelli is still the coach.  It starts way above him.  How about a new owner???  Maybe one that will spend the money to get some good players.  Let's face it, this crap has been going on with the Lions for way too many years.  It is the ownership of the team and nothing else.  I have been a fan and season ticket holder for too long.  I would give up my tickets but I am afraid to because of the 50 yard line seats I have in the lower level.  They have been in my family since the 1950's when the Lions were great.  I give most of the games away.  I only went to the Thanksgiving Day game this year and gave the rest away.  There were some games that I actually couldn't give them away.  Who wants to go see a loser???  Certainly not me.  Things won't change until the fans stop going to the games.  Every game has been sold out since Ford Field was built.

i'm just afraid if the team sells it will be moved....how does the Los Angeles Lee-owns sound??  At least that way we could all be Bears fans!

But in all seriousness, they have more problems than just one or two big moves (like firing Millen and bringing in a QB)  they need a complete facelift.

funny story....

I was listening to the radio yesterday while working.  I was busy so i wasnt paying a whole lot of attention.  Then, one of the interns interupted the radio show and said the lions just fired the head coach, more details later.  I never heard anything after that.

So, my wife and I were out having dinner last night with some of our ( her ) friends and it hit me.  All the radio show hosts are off on vacation right now and it was obviously a rerun.  Its pretty funny when you think about it.  No?  oh, sorry!

You're right Big Dog, the problem with the Lions starts at the top, namely the Fords. They need to sell the team to someone who can build a winner. It's painfully obvious they can't.

Matt Millen needs to go also. He would'nt know a great football player if he tripped over him. Just because he was a great player doesn't mean he can recognize talent.

I like Marinelli, except for his decision to play McCowan at wide out. That was foolish. He seems like he can get the job done if given the right players.

Now, where can we find someone that has the money and the proven ability to develop a winning sports franchise?

Can you say pizza-pizza?
Peace.

Spending money to get good players doesn't guarantee anything...just look at Daniel Snyder  :o

Cheetams right.  We are not talking about the New York Yankees or Ilich's Detroit Tigers.  We are talking about the Detroit Lions.  It will also take more than good draft picks.  Problem is that every player that the Lions get, they ruin until they get to another team.  Take Harrington for example.  On Thanksgiving Day he spanked the Lions good.  It is amazing what good pass blocking can do for you.

We need a lot of things to become a competetive team, but at the top of the list of "need to haves" is a solid O-line (and an equally solid D-line).  It's amazing how a good, consistent O-line opens up an offense.  Look at Denver...every year they can put a new RB in the backfield and that RB will be successful.  Are they better than other backs in the league?  If you put Kevin Jones in Denver's offense he'd be successfull...because of the o-line.  A good o-line also gives the QB time to read a defense and keeps him off his back or from being pressured.  We don't need a lot of good players, we need the RIGHT players...

What I meant was someone with the money to buy the team from the Fords and build a winning team, not to just try to buy a championship. For whatever reason, they just can't build a winner.
Peace.

Well they didn't hire a new Head Coach, but the did hire a new Defensive Co. It's Marinelli's Son-In-Law, he was the linbackers coach for Tampa Bay. Really doesn't matter much, they will still stink.
