Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

T'was the night before Christmas (in Detroit)

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Ford Field
Not a fan in the stands, their disgust unconcealed;
The cameras crew told to film only the play
In hopes the league would not be embarrassed that day.
As the Lions were waiting unaware in their locker
With visions of beating the Bears in a shocker,
And Rod with his mantra of clawing the wall
Had just finished saying they?d answer the call;
And amid all the static, charged like positive ions
They sprang from their seats yelling, ?Rah-rah, go Lions.?

Away to the tunnel they flew like a flash,
And out on the field in a mad frenzied dash.
The lights up above gave the eeriest glow
To the stands and the field and the players below.
When what to their wondering eyes should appear
But a stadium empty, with no one to cheer;
Just a little old man who was out of his gourd
They knew in a moment it was William Clay Ford.

More rapid than eagles his outcry it came,
And he screamed, and he shouted, and he called them by name,
?Now, Millen! Now, Rod! Now, Martz and Donnie!
How is it that you could do this to me!
I gave you all chances, and made you my sons
But now this experiment?s officially done!?
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up from the house-tops the cheering it flew,
And the whole state of Michigan was whooping, ?Woo-who!?
And then, in a moment, when the shock fully hit
Rod threw down his clipboard and hollered, ?I quit!?
Then he drew back his hand as Ford turned around
And dropped him with force to the top of his crown.

As Ford lay there aching, from his head to his toe,
He shrieked at the rest of the coaches to go.
The players had witnessed this man on his back
And they all were so stunned by the viscous attack,
Their eyes ? how they questioned! Their thoughts were confused!
Their minds were in shock, but still mildly amused!
Then his droll little voice said, ?No coaches today,
Just get out on that field and do it your way.?
A bump on his head, at least one broken tooth,
He stormed off of the field and up to the booth.

So Jon Kitna spoke up saying he?d run the show
And proceeded to tell everyone where to go,
But of chokes in the fourth, the team had had their fill
And a coup began rising lead by Jones and R-Will.
Then Dre Bly spoke his mind saying, ?What do you know,
It?s time for this Tampa-2 defense to go.?
And Hanson piped up to try calming the mob,
But no one would listen ?cause kicking?s his job.

As the Lions were pointing the fingers of blame
The Bears did their thing, and prepared for the game.
With the teams on the field, the ref blew his whistle
And the Bears hit the Lions like a heat-seeking missile.
And the fans all at home who were drinking their beer
Exclaimed, ?Merry Christmas Detroit, no Matt Millen next year!?

Cheetam

Some people have visions of sugar plums...others:

?Merry Christmas Detroit, no Matt Millen next year!?

Do you think we'll take a receiver with our first pick next year?  :D :D
Jeff

blakstr1

oh they'll probably pick another one up with just a little less parole restrictions!

really though, what should they do, actually try to sign one of these top 3 players in the country, or trade the pick away for a 4-5 year guy, preferably a QB.  another year we are left to wonder..
