Traverse City Smallmouth
« on: June 28, 2012, 12:46:19 PM »

I will be in the Traverse City area the week of July 15, 2012 and wonder if anyone could help me with info on smallmouth fishing from shore (wading).  I will be staying in Acme, wife has a meeting, and thought I would wet a line while she works.  I need to know some good access points and what they are biting on.  Any help would be greatly appreacated.  Thanks, Don

I wish I could help you with shore fishing but have never done it there. You might try the pier in Petosky or maybe fish in or around the Boardman River. Others on this site can probably give better info. Also, there are a few guides up that way that might be able to get you out.

If you are a newcomer to the area and have a sweet tooth, check out Doug Murdick's Fudge in Acme. Great fudge and peanut brittle that they make right there on the premises.

Thanks for the reply, I did live north of Petoskey years ago but never fished around Traverse City.
