Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

O.K. so I got the new boat.  2000 Ranger r73..  It has two Lowrance sonars on it.  I wanna put my color gps/sounder on this boat.  How big of a pain in the neck is that going to be?  Is that something I should try and do myself.  Has anyone done it before.

Also, I wanted to thank everyone for the advice I have had the boat out a few times and it is great.  The only problem I have is that the bilge blows the fuse all the time.

It is no big deal putting your own GPS/ Sounder on. Just make sure you don't have any air bubbles in you apoxy when you glue your transducer down, and make sure it is on a flat, smooth, and level surface.

If you don't have one, go buy a fish tape(spring steel wire routing device - not the fish measuring device ;D) to help pull your wires and cables.  You will use it enough over the years to make it worth it.  If you have to drill into fiberglass to mount the GPS/sonar, put heavy masking tape over the glass before you drill and use a very sharp drill bit to keep from chipping the gel coat.

For the bilge pump - check your wire connections.  They are probably corroded.  If they are, replace them with bullet connectors and buy a spare bilge cartridge (assuming they are mayfair's) and put the same bullet connectors on them for easy replacement while on the water.

Good luck with the new boat - it won't be long before you are grumbling about the dang snow and ice keeping you from playing with your best friend!!!
