Anyone ever do any good on Belleville Lake? I've never really did any good there. Although I've caught one bass over 5lbs. But it always seemed slow. Maybe I wasn't fishing the right area.. Any input?

Its hit n miss.  I have great days there and not so great days there.

I have a thread in here somewhere about Ford lake that touches a lot on Belleville.  Belleville gets fished pretty heavily during the summer with all the people living on it and 2 or 3 weekly tournaments.  A lot of folks who live on the lake eat the smallies too.  Bunch of guys in here fish Belleville though.

I caught a musky (44") on belleville in 2005. It fell to my musky-killin' 1" twister on a 1/32 oz. head in early april. Just out trying to catch anything....

One more thought about your query...the "right area" on Belleville is constantly moving and changing.  There is no one pattern or spot on B-ville that consistantly produces from month to month / year to year.  I feel like every year I have to start from scratch on this wonderful lake.

BIGSHOW

Thanks for the feedback. Thats how I felt. Every time I went out It seems I was catching them in different areas. Guess i'll keep trying different things

BIGSHOW

Also if anyone has any info on the tournaments they have there? Thanks

LAPORTE

Sure there is one on opening day.Im not sure who puts that one on. the regular weekly one start the first Tue and Thur after Mem day. and run thru the summer to early fall both start at 5 and weigh in @9pm and adjust as the season ends (because of daylight)

If you have any more question please call me or send me a Pm I run the thursday night one734 six three five 2747

Pretty much nailed it. It can be a pain to fish some days(which seems like most days).
There's some nice fish in there though, but they do seem to be un-catchable most of the year.lol

I didn't fish belleville a whole lot last year,I stayed in the river systems.

dashaver63

Haven't been there in a couple years, and I really miss that lake. For me though catching fish was never really the problem, finding keepers was the trick. I know a couple areas that have been consistant big fish spots, best thing to do is find a good map and locate the original river bed and follow that, always a good place to start. Also there are a couple really good deep water points that are decent too.
