I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

DK- I will ask you about it when the time gets nearer. If it works out i would definately like to.

cwinsiii

jmcfarland  what boat did you get.

Dan, if he cannot make it let me know and, I'll take the day off and come over if you need someone.

djkimmel

cwinsiii,
I'll be there more than one day - allowing for weather and some experimentation. I'll let you know which days I plan on being up there a little later this winter.
Dan

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I talked to Derrick after the Federation Tournament you two won. He told me you found a bunch of "big dumb fish" I hope you can find them again.

CWINNSII- I havent bought any boat yet but a guy in my bass club has one that i am thinking seriouslly about getting. Its a 1997 alumacraft with a 60 horse Merc. Its aluminum but hey ya gotta start somewhere.

the type boat does not matter.  having one is what it is about...
the guys who won division 43 wed night NBAA fished from an aluninum boat...  i catch as many fish from my 14 ft flat bottom as my Ranger.. the dog likes the Ranger better.. carpet is softer...
good boat with a good motor,  livewells, trolling motor is all you need.   the rest is up to you...

think spring

If the boat floats thats all that matters, don't get caught up in the bass boat craze. I had a 14 foot john boat with a 8hp motor and an electric motor on the front, I caught a lot of fish from that boat.

I've been doing some negotiating with the wife to get more fishing time this year. If your interested lets try to get out on Charlevoix this spring.

Jmcfarland

CWINNSII- I would definatly like to try and get out on Lake Charlevoix this spring. I havent fished it a lot but i know of 2 areas that looked real good when i was out there last spring. I was in a walleye tournament so I didnt actually get to fish the areas but there were big smallies jumping on what must have been minnows. I will try and get some time to go out there with you. With the new season opening earlier that should help.

Steve

Sorry to get on this subject so late.? But because of the stuff that happens on the other board, I quit reading all forums all together.? I shouldn't have stopped reading this one, now i have a couple days of reading to do. :o

Thanks gnewski5 for reminding me!

Dan runs a good thing here, and i appreciate the services he provides, along with everyone else on this forum.? I've always been provided with good and helpful information on this board.? Thanks again!

I wonder how many other people have quit reading LSCN too?

Savage

jmcfarland-

I know a guy down here in Saginaw that is selling his Nitro, it's a smaller one 17 footer I think.  It's going to be a great boat for someone, becasue he harldy ever used the thing.  It has been garage kept, and never left the garage all last year!  I believe it is a 2000 or 2001, it has a 75HP 4 Stroke engine, really easy on gas.

I'll get after him to get me a price and let you know.  Nitros are pretty good starter boats, as their price tag is right.  I got my first real "bass" boat 2 years ago, a 97 Nitro Savage (thus the screen name) 21 footer with a 225 Opti, a big trolling motor, and GPS and depth finder.  All for $13,000, can't beat that price.

Just don't jump at the first boat that comes along, like I did, or you will be buying another one in about 2 years!  I'm on my third one now, in a 5 years span.  I think I'll stick with the old Savage for a while, she's been good to me.

Good luck.
