I had a blast this year fishing Green Lake and Duck Lake in Interlochen they are both good size lakes with some really good largemouth and smallmouth fishing, we went there in the middle of the summer and pulled about 18lbs on Green and had about 15lbs on duck. Plus they are across the street from each othere. I went up there and camped at the camp ground thats inbetween the 2 lakes I think it was $17 for the night and that was for full hookup. You could set it up for every one to stay in one area in the camp ground and all hang out, I think they even have a hall were you could even do a dinner or a cookout inside, not 100% on that. Its worth checking out Im gonna be planning trip up there every year.

And there you are..........

With it being our 1st & ever trip to these lakes it couldn't have gone any better and I wish we could have stayed up there a couple more days.  Best State Park in Michigan by a long-shot; can't complain about $21 a night for a modern campsite with electrical.  From a fishing standpoint alone both Green & Duck are worth the trip but when you add in the convenience of Interlochen State Park it becomes an annual must.  And there is a shelter that can be reserved so it has everything a tourney would ever need plus more....

SPI should have something like this in my opinion - count me in for 2012 if you do.  2 lakes, 2 days, and 2 species is the ideal fisherman family vacation!

Any update as to the schedule for 2012?  Is there a contact name or number to follow up with for the 2012 SPI Tournaments?  Any information would be greatly appreciated........

Just saying... Duck and Green are great lakes. In June and July you had better have reservations. You can reserve ahead of time the little cabins there that sleep 4. They are really nice. Right on the water. Plenty of room for boats, etc. The Tear Drop Tournament Trail, has fished them for years and years. They also will change it up and fish one of those two and Long Lake, which is right down the road a few miles and usually kicks both Duck and Green in terms of weights. Both lakes can at times get a little stingy mid summer, but what lakes don't. Duck and Green host a lot of end of season "Classic" type tournaments. There are a number of groups that like to go there to end their season. I get emails all the time from all over the state looking for info on them. I would have to agree that Interlochen is one of the nicest state parks. Plus Boone's Long Lake Inn is a must stop for a evening meal. Hoffbrau has a great Sunday brunch, and the little store in Karlin has great sandwiches for your lunch on the water. You can check out the teardropbass.com website for this year's write up on those lakes and there are several archived reports as well.
