Fishing advice for next week -- rookie, first time fishing GTB

Going up to Traverse city this coming week, planning on taking family fishing on either East or West bay this coming week of July 24-29.  Any advice would be welcomed, would love to fish smallmouth or anything else that may be active.  Just back from a week in northern Ontario and still have the fishing jones for bass, walleye (not sure if any in GTB) or pike/muskie.  Would appreciate any pointers, locations to try, depths or structure to look for.  Thanks, Reggiedog
