Tim Bledsoe is hosting a community forum on Canadian plans to place 160 wind turbines in their waters of Lake St. Clair on Monday, May 3. The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, 32 Lakeshore Drive in Grosse Pointe Farms.

Confirmed speakers include:

Eric Sharp, Outdoor Writer for the Detroit Free Press
Nick Schroeck, Wayne State University Law Professor and Environmental Law Center Director
A representative from the Michigan Environmental Council
A wind energy expert from the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth
A representative from the Canadian Consulate
A representative from Southpoint Wind, the company responsible for building the wind turbines.
I hope you will join me for this important community forum as we discuss the impact these wind turbines will have on Lake St. Clair and our community.

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.

Do you know of a link to any more detailed information about this plan online?

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

160???  It is going to be like a giant Slalom course out there...

I can hear the chatter at the weigh ins...."Yeah I would like to thank Ranger..I used the typical LSC windmill pattern that has developed over the last few years to catch my winning sack"

This thing keeps building steam....I was hoping it would die off...

Chicago Suburb Approves Nation's First Offshore Wind Farm
By Megan Mollman
Apr 15th 2010 @ 8:00AM

The Chicago area, already known for its green roofs and other eco-initiatives, may have made history earlier this week. In the northern lake suburb of Evanston, the City Council unanimously voted to move forward on a proposal to place 40 wind turbines on Lake Michigan, reports FOX News Chicago, putting the region in the running to have the first offshore wind farm in the United States.

Supporters say that the wind farm would generate enough sustainable energy to power 40,000 homes (more than the number of homes in Evanston today). Eventually the town could reap more benefits by selling power to neighboring communities on Chicago's North Shore. Complete story on HousingWatch.com
