Well, winter is pretty much here (or on the way), so it's time to break out the winter hobbies.  Here's a mess of gills and some baby bass I was able to paint up this week (they still need a clear coat though):

Did you see that article on Yellow for Smallmouths in the new Bassmaster Magazine..?? How about some yellow Fat Free shads, or LCs...? I am willing to try anything once..Well almost anything...LOL

I don't think I've seen that issue yet...I have a few different patterns baits I have done with variations of yellow/chartruese.  I typically add a splash of chartruese on the tail and chest of baits I paint up with smallies in mind.  Here's a couple examples:

I'm currently using a product called Dick Nite's Lure Coat (a moisture-cured urethane).  It's good stuff.  But, the problem with Dick Nite's right now is that it isn't available because one of his suppliers has stopped supplying him with one of the ingredients.  He thinks he has found a replacement, but won't release the new/reformulated version until he is sure it is as good or better than the original formula.  Other guys use different epoxies like Devcon 2 ton, Etex and/or Flex Coat (the rod building stuff).

I brush it on, although some guys spray it and others dip.  I feel like I get a more even coat by brushing it on.  It's pretty toxic, so I don't want to have anything to do with spraying it.
