Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Well, I think they rotate the regionals around, or the divisions fishing them.  We'll be going into their den this year, and it will come back around to your neck of the woods soon.

Hopefully....

I have been fishing the BFL 5 years and every single regional has not been neutral as it is supposed to be. The fact is we fish each year against many of the local sticks. At every regional I have been to it is a 8-10 hour drive or more for the Michigan guys and most of the divisions we fish against have a less than 1 to 4 hour drive. It would be nice to see them try to even it out a little, but I haven't seen that happen yet. I do enjoy seeing these new fisheries and Fort Madison is a very good fishery. Actually, the only regional I did not enjoy much was last year at Cherokee. I don't know what it was about that lake, but I just did not like it much. I weighed in my tiny limit of spots each day and got whooped. I know many guys didn't like Paducah much, but that was probably my favorite place to fish. There was a ton of water to cover and even though the fish were small, there were a lot of them. Anyway, I guess the regionals are what they are and I choose the fish the BFL's despite the fact they are not neutral. I believe you will like Fort Madison, Phil, it is a very good fishery. We hit it at a tough time of year and I don't know how it will look after last year's severe flooding. It has the biggest pad fields on it I have ever seen. The one at Montrose is probably 2 miles long and a 1/4 to 1/2 mile wide. It has every kind of fishing imaginable on a river. The lower end is more like a shallow reservoir, while the upper end is more like a river with oxbows and mostly wood fishing. Pools 18 and 20 are typical river fishing with mostly wood and rock cover. 19 definitely has the most fish in it, but it can be won on any of the pools. Hope to see you at the BFL's this year.

The local communities in Michigan so far where they would feel comfortable to hold a regional, are not willing to work with them, so they don't come here.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

What about Cheboygan?  That town really seems to roll out the red carpet for the BFL.  That would be a sweet place for a regional in the fall.  Think power fishing for smallies on the flats!

The drive up there for other regions might be long, but wow, would that be a fun time!

skeeterman190

I would agree but im betting that from a tourney and numbers thing areas like Muskegon Grand Rapids and Detroit would be the main focus.. wouldnt we love to have some southerners come to BURT and MUllet out there elements.
