Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

Wasn't too hard for you to think of some ideas csfishslayer. Good job. Doing something about all the weed treatments is important to many, many anglers. I like the adopt a lake idea. I think it has been done in a few areas. Just a clean up of certain shorelines by a group of anglers would be cool. You'd be visible to, so good PR, along with a great public service.

Maybe clubs could combine an adopt a lake program around a weed treatment watch, or weed treatment coordination to work to help recover acceptable cover when exotic weeds are killed?

TEAM NEMESIS will be doing lake shore clean up at kent lake every tuesday night. anyone wanting to help please call jon or mccarter himself. i will supply the bags. Lets all do our part to pick up the trash at the METRO PARKS and keep them beautiful....

Thanks Dan; And hats off to all that help with the shore clean up. I will do my best to come join you guys. If anyone else has any Ideas please feel free to share. If we all put are heads together and share our ideas, we can achieve anything, it just takes some thought. Some of the simplest things make the biggest difference!
