 is this too light for throwing 3/8 -1/2 ounce bass jigs? my invisx broke on a backlash and i'm out of 12 lb seaguar have a big spool of 10 lb and was wondering if i could use this instead. money is a little tight right now and i'm on hourly now which is 15.00 an hour as opposed to 30.00 rate. thanks guys

It's a little lighter than I generally like to go with large bass jigs, but CXX is really tough line with some stretch. If you aren't throwing it into really heavy stuff, in the middle of really thick weeds, you could get by on it. I've done a lot of light flipping with Texas-rigs on 10 lbs test (HALO most of the time) and gotten away with a lot while being able to drive the hook through the plastic and into the bass.

Jig hooks can be a little thicker and heavier yet. Make sure they are really sharp - should stick in your fingernail without sliding easily if you touch the point to your fingernail. That's how I tell.

10 lbs. CXX is probably comparatively as tough as 12 lbs. Seaguar but because it isn't Fluorocarbon it won't be as sensitive and will take a little more effort on the hookset to make up for the additional stretch.
