Down here in SC for work and made it out for a couple of hours with a local guy. He's got a Champion 202 with a 250 ProXS that is pretty quick. There was a huge cold front that came in today, so we were not expecting much. Put the boat in and ran about 10 minutes up the lake to the dam. This is my first time fishing a big southern lake so I felt pretty lost. We were in 50 FOW and about 75 feet from shore. We worked the shore for a couple hundred yards with no results and moved to the next spot. More of the same so we went to the third spot. I got bit just off the end of a dock (20+ FOW) and set the hook.  >:( When I put my reels away for the winter I let all the drags out and I didn't get this one tight enough, hookset, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, no fish.  >:( :( We hit a couple other areas and he picked up one spot, but that was it. Really it is a dream just to get on soft water at this time of year.
