Finding Fish on the Saginaw Bay

Hi All!

Let me start this post by saying that I'm not looking for anyone's spots or waypoints; I'm genuinely looking for some advice on how to break down big water such as the Saginaw Bay.  I've done pretty well out on St. Clair and Erie and have started to understand how those lakes set up, but the Bay still confuses me.  What do you look for on the Bay?  When I look at a lake map and run to the places that look like they should hold fish, I keep coming up with nothing.  Is there an easier way to break down the lake; is there something I'm missing or do I just have to run around this sand bowl and hope that I stumble upon a rockpile or random weed bed?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks guys!

Honestly, the only areas I have concentrated on in the actual "SAGINAW BAY" has been out of  Bayport out to North island. The rocky banks and areas surrounding the island has always done well for me both in the spring and fall months. As far as the rest of the bay, im not exactly sure, but it might be worthwhile to head out and hit the Charity Islands on a calmer day. Lots of rocks and boulders that hold fish all year long out there. BIGGINS'
