Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I thought it might be a good idea to put up the tournament information so that you can find it all in one place.  Most of this info was buried in pages of posts.  This is what we have at the moment.  DK, if any of this is wrong, can you correct it?

Per DK:
Here it is - the 1st DK Spring Open - catch-and-release bass tournament for forum members only on Saturday 5/12/07 - Lake St. Clair. Michigan waters only.

Mark your calendars and plan to catch (and release) a bunch of bass on this world class fishery.

Launch: Harley Ensign Ramp, South River Rd/Clinton River

Type: Boaters/nonboaters drawn together and then work as a team - best 5 bass

Weigh-in: Catch-and-Release - measure with Golden Rule board and record lengths

Hours: 8am until 2pm (we'll launch early if everybody is there and ready to go)

Cost: $5 Entry and $2 Big Bass Pot

Take the I-94 E ramp to Port Huron - go 7.3 mi
Take the Metropolitan Pky exit 236 - go 0.3 mi
Turn right at 16 Mile Rd/Metro Pky - go 2.6 mi
Turn left at Jefferson Ave - go 1.0 mi
Turn right at S River Rd - go 2.0 mi

This is a map route that I got off the MI DNR website. When you click on the link you will see a list of ramps. In the box with Harley Ensign you will see a tiny little box that says "map it." Click on that tiny box and it will take you to another page. In the right margin of that page you will see "Driving Directions." Clicking on this will take you to a page that you can enter your address in and get a door to ramp map.

What about the construction?
There is lots of construction but the morning shouldn't be a problem.  If you're coming from the West and taking 696 to 94, you can get off at Metro Parkway and get to Harley Ensign from there.  It's the way home that'll be a little slow potentially, but the construction is about a mile North of Metro Parkway, so it won't be a problem.

Additional Freeway Directions to Harley Ensign:
From the West, take 96 to 696 East and take that all the way to 94.  Merge left onto 94 East.  Take that to Metro Parkway and exit.  Get in the right lane and turn right (East).  Take that to Jefferson (the entrance to Metro Park) and turn left onto Jefferson.  Take that a mile or so until it ends at a 'T'.  Turn right onto South River Road.  Take that until it ends at Harley Ensign.  That's the ramp.

From the North, just take 94 West to Metro Parkway and turn East.  Follow same directions as above.  Note: If you're coming from the North, 94 will go down to 1 lane for a few miles before you get to Metro Parkway.  But that early in the AM, it shouldn't slow you down.

I think all this info is correct.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

I'd like to have a short meeting and lake discussion for the first timers about 7:30 AM or so if most people are there and ready to go.

Anthony will have a few Golden Rule Bass boards for sale at $16 for the boats that don't have one. We'll have score sheets for each boat too.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
