For spring smallies my go to bait is a strike king 1.5 crankbait in chartreuse with black back.

I like a white yum ring tube when fishing beds.

For me I always have reach for a 1/2 oz football jig + berkley chigger craw,  Xtreme Bass Tube in GL3 (or Canadian mist - I can't decide!), and Lucky Craft Pointer (Ghost Minnow or Ghost Chartreuse).

A wacky-rigged Senko is definitely old reliable, for me it's best in dark greens or black.

Once we get past spring I can always scratch out a couple on a floating Rapala. Start with a larger size and step down until they start hitting it. More often than not I fish it really slow on top.
