Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I have been doing my own for the last 4 years and have accumulated all the tools and lubricants needed. Since I have 4 days off a week I have plenty of time to clean some reels in my spare time. So thought I would ask if anyone wanted there shimano baitcasters cleaned and or upgrade bearings/drags before the bass fishing season opens. I am only familure with the newer shimano baitcasters since that is all me or my buddies that I do this for use, so that is all I am comfortable working on at this time. If your interested shoot me a PM and we can go over price and details on cleaning process or upgrades.

About 4 Symetre's that need some attention.

I also do my own Curados.  Shimano has some instruction videos on You Tube that get me through it quite nicely.
I bought an Ardent reel cleaning kit from Cabela's 3 or 4 years ago to do the job.  I think the kit cost $20.  I noticed at Gander Mountain last week they have the same kit.

I don't break my spinning reels (Symmetre)  down all the way though.  So if you or somebody knows how to and wouldn't mind showing me how to I'd appreciate it.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

This winter i bought a decent heated ultra sonic cleaner, expensive but makes a huge difference on the bearings.

I just did another search and have never seen this video before.

Now that I've seen it I'm not afraid to do a deeper cleaning than I have been.  It really doesn't look as hard as I thought it was.

Thanks for posting that video fiker.  I wish I had seen it earlier when I lubed and re-spooled my Stradics today. lol

Mr Cook,  the Stradic 2500s have a magnetic lock ,but once in a while my #2 reel does this. Like the magnet slips.  Can you fix this ?
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

Just fyi... the symetry is the same inside as the stradic (stradics use a different frame and higher quality bearings from what I can tell) but they come apart the same.  Did one of my symetry's using the linked video as a guide.

Yeah me too.  I'd already done a less thorough cleaning, but went back and dug a little deeper.  With these videos and  the kit I save myself the price of cleaning a reel times about 10 each winter.
