I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

For the past few years I have been tying the uni to uni knot, when connecting fluorocarbon to braid. I've had some success with it on Lake Erie, but was curious if there are better options. Does anyone have a personal preferences?

A swivel.  I have seen to many fish lost when the leader knot breaks.

I've been using the uni-to- uni for years to connect my floro leaders to braid with very little issue.  I can't say I've ever lost a fish to it for sure.  I have lost a bit of terminal tackle to snags... the only time I know the knot as broken is trying to pull it off a snag.  I don't like swivels... in many cases (especially drop shot) it changes the presentation.  Or I find that it picks up weeds.

The uni to uni is a great knot but for me it takes awhile to tie. I now use a surgeons knot and loop it 4 times for braid to fluoro. I have never had the knot break since using it.
Has anyone seen the new fluorocarbon swivel on the market from Aquateko? It's pretty cool. It's so clear I had to use a magnifying glass to thread the 12 lb size.
I'm going fishing for Walleye at noon today in my bass boat on a small inland lake. Sure hope I see some.

I find the double uni the easiest to tie and generally the strongest for my needs.  I do not like a swivel because it snags or changes the presentation.  I recently learned to tie the Albright knot and used it a couple times last year.  It's quite strong but a little harder to tie.  Watch Aaron Martens teach how to tie it below:

I have tried a dozen times or so to tie that knot and I still can't get it right. I like knots I can get right pretty quick.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Like the granny knot and square knot Dan?

Some days I'm happy I can tie my dang shoes.

What knot do you use with that?!?

I prefer the Blood Knot. It is harder to tie than the Double Uni, but it is definitely stronger in my book and i've never broken a line at the know or had it come undone (as will happen sometimes with braid).
It takes practice to get it right, but once you get good at it, you'll love it.

I use a similar knot that Aaron Martins is showing, but you wrap your braid 9 times around the double over fluoro. or mono. and then 9 times back over the wraps and put the tag end of the braid through the loop of leader material. I saw Bill Semental tie it on a show and every time the knot to lure will break first. I don't remember what it is called(Santiago whip something). I would never trust anything else.
